👋 I’m Maya A lot of new ppl so wanted to reintroduce myself I started posting on x again 133 days ago after a two year break In that break I: • got burned out • met my husband • got married • traveled • worked my 9-5 • dealt with with a bunch of ups and downs but it was worth it Before that, I was building my first product InterviewJam I made all the mistakes a new builder makes (took too long to launch, over engineered, etc.) But I was able to land in the top 5 on product hunt and get 2000+ users but I had no idea what I was doing and knew nothing about marketing and distribution That failure affected me deeply because I really felt that product could have taken off but my skills were a limitation It was right when gpt 3 and ChatGPT was getting released I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur ever since I can remember and have always had the fire in me to build something amazing that is going to help a lot of people build something amazing for themselves This time around I am doing things differently: learning distribution and marketing in public I started on a couple products which I still maintain but I decided to focus on learning from people who already have built something successful and share that with everyone else And that’s why I started my podcast buildingnow to give myself and others the edge 2023 me didn’t have If I'm being honest, I still get anxious about time going by Watching people I started alongside take off while I was away Wondering if I missed my window But I've realized the only way to waste more time is to keep sitting on the sidelines So I'm building, learning, and sharing every step of it here, the wins and the messy parts Outside of building you'll find me:
