Most of the “AI will write the code” talk still starts in the wrong place. The interesting part isn’t the generation. It’s where the day begins. Right now a customer or a support ticket dumps a request into a void. Then a human has to turn that void into a branch, an environment, a first pass. That’s the slow part. That’s the part that burns good engineers. Base Code is the first thing I’ve seen that treats the environment as the product. Repo goes in. Cloud comes up. Preview exists. A change is already sitting there as a PR. The developer still reviews it. Nothing merges without them.
