STORY TIMEEEE Yesterday I met a friend of mine. For context, he has a BSc in CS and fortunately landed a job in Bangalore. He earns ₹17k/month. He told his parents he makes ₹30k/month and sends them ₹5k every month as a token of love. But he pays ₹10k in rent, eats breakfast and lunch at the office, and manages to save around ₹2k/month. What genuinely broke me was when he told me he eats lunch around 4-5 PM so he doesn’t feel hungry at night and can save some money. I don't know if I was right, but I told him to be honest with his parents, come back to Mumbai, and give himself a year to study and find a better opportunity. Maybe he can find a similar job here. I know it's not that easy, but living like this shouldn't be the goal either. There’s a quote that has always stayed with me: “Let the money you earn support the life you want to live, not become the life you live for.” What's the point of earning if you can't make your life a little better? What's the point if you have to give up every dream you once had just to survive? What's the point if you can't save anything for your future or the family you hope to build someday? Money isn't everything.
